Rani Avantibai Lodhi was a courageous queen of Ramgarh (present-day Madhya Pradesh) and one of the earliest women leaders to rise against British rule during the Revolt of 1857. After the death of her husband, Raja Vikramaditya Singh, she refused to accept British interference and took charge of the kingdom herself. Known for her bravery, leadership, and deep sense of self-respect, she organized armed resistance against the British East India Company. Rather than surrender, she chose martyrdom in 1858, fighting valiantly for her land and people.
